Mr. W. Joseph Irish is a Senior Manager for Siena Accountants CPA, PLLC. In his role with Sienna, Mr. Irish works with JMann Consulting Group clients as a subject matter expert where such expertise is needed. Siena provides comprehensive tax and business planning for its clients. Mr. Irish brings nearly 20 years of business experience to Siena. Prior to joining Siena, Mr. Irish spent 15 years as Chief Financial Officer and 9 years as a shareholder at a successful logistics firm that specializes in rail transportation logistics. His professional career began with KPMG Peat Marwick in Lansing, Michigan where he was a senior auditor focused on small to mid-sized clients in manufacturing, construction, broadcasting and service industries.
Mr. Irish is a resident of Grand Ledge, Michigan who strongly supports the foundation of the state’s economic development in small, progressive businesses as well as start-up operations. Mr. Irish is excited to be able to work with these businesses to provide them a strategic business partner to help them make sound business decisions. Mr. Irish’s small business expertise and financial management success brings Siena clients invaluable knowledge. During Mr. Irish’s ownership of a Michigan company, freight under management grew from just under $20 million to nearly $150 million with operations and sales offices in 10 states. In addition to business growth, the company also designed and launched a web-based rail management solution that is able to serve shippers of all sizes.
Mr. Irish is also passionate about community involvement and has served on the Board of Directors for the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce and the YMCA of Lansing including earning volunteer of the year award. He is a member of the Grand Ledge Pony Baseball Board, co-founder of the Grand Ledge Area Flag Football Program and a Girl’s AAU Basketball Club.
Mr. Irish holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western Michigan University with a major in accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.
